First look at the CustomLED ELFR-1 LED flasher relay. This goes with my last video, where I put LED flashers, marker, brake, and driving lights on my 1986 Honda Shadow 700: 1986 Honda Shadow VT700C Update: LED Markers and Air Filter

The problem with that upgrade: the blinkers blink too fast. This relay is supposed to fix that.

On the box: 12 volts DC in, black is the load out. Black negative, red positive.

There are two wires on it. My Shadow has three where the relay goes: one to the brake light, one to the blinkers, and the negative. So I'll probably have to splice the positive in. I haven't done it yet.

It has a mounting hole, so I can hang it with a screw. More compact than the original. It also comes with plug-and-play adapters. I'm not sure yet if I can use them.

Before and after

Before: the blinkers, front and back, are still way too fast.

After: done. This is the stuff I expected to use: butt splice connectors and my new wire crimpers. I didn't really use any of it. Just the relay.

Result: normal-speed blinkers, with brake light action. Full functionality like before, with the LEDs. Brake lights intact, driving lights still work. They're hard to see in daylight, so I did an after-dark video: Honda Shadow VT700C LED Marker Lights After Dark

True plug and play at its finest.
