The plan for Umbra right now.
Update, November 2026
The Hall effect sensor still hasn't been replaced. It never got done because it wasn't stopping the bike from starting. It's still on the list.
First, a cheaper part just to get her running. Get everything working. Then start putting money into reliability upgrades, like higher capacity charging cables.
The R1100RTs are really cranky motors, but reliable as hell. There are a few things on them that need to be worked on.
At some point I have to go under all that mess you see in the video and change the Hall effect sensor. I'm 99% sure it's bad.

Where she's at
I believe it's a Hall effect sensor issue.
I also need a spark plug tool to get the plugs done.
For everyone worried: she has a cover on. She's not sitting in the rain.
A new starter is going in. The old one was garbage. When I took it to be bench tested at Riley's, it reset the entire system.
Everybody kept telling me it was the relay. But I'd already hooked up a jumper wire and jumped the relay right in that box. So I'd tested that myself.

Cheap fix first. Then reliability. Hall sensor on the list, plugs next, new starter.
