Back in April 2024 I swapped Lilia over to an LED headlight and LED turn signals. Both jobs were straightforward. The only thing that took any thought was the relearn afterward so the signals don't hyperflash.
The LED headlight

The LED headlight was the hardest part of the whole install. To get the old housing out and the new one in, you have to loosen the retaining ring, and for that I needed a smaller Phillips screwdriver and something to hold the nut still while I loosened it. Once the old housing was out, everything else was plug-and-play. The LED headlight plugs right into the original plug.

The LED turn signals are dual function. They run as running/brake lights, then switch over to turn signals when you hit a turn signal or the hazard button.
I kept the factory housings and connected them directly to the bulb socket. They came with new lenses too. Pop the old lenses off with a flathead and push the new ones in.

Relearn steps

After swapping to LEDs, do the relearn so the turn signals don't hyperflash:
1. Turn the bike to accessory mode.
2. Turn on the hazards.
3. With the hazards still on, turn accessory off.
4. Turn accessory back on. Relearn complete.
That's the 30-second relearn.
Shadow vs. Harley

When I did LEDs on the Shadow, it needed a flasher relay to stop the hyperflash: Fixing Fast LED Blinkers on a 1986 Honda Shadow VT700C: CustomLED ELFR-1 Relay and After-Dark Test
The Shadow's signals also took some wiring know-how. I had to tap into the brake light signal wire to get the brake lights working on that bike, and tap into the accessory signal wire to get the auxiliary running lights to run.
The Sportster needed none of that. No relay, no tapping wires. Everything was plug-and-play, and it just needed the relearn.
